Job Title : Early Years Practitioner Level 3 /4 qualified
Applicants must have NVQ 3/4 or above in childcare and early years development
Maths and English GCSE grade C/equivalent or above
Responsible to : Playgroup Manager/ Setting Supervisor /Deputy
Contract hours: Temporary part-time term time only to July with a view to being permanent staff going forward into the Autumn Term ’24
Wed 8am-2pm & Thurs 8-3.30pm
Some flexibility around starting time regarding school drop off
What you will do
- You will work as an EYP in our Early Years Setting
- You will be responsible for a group of Key children. You will know them well and be able to adapt the EY curriculum to reflect their interests and ensure that the curriculum is developmentally appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with children and their families.
- You will use a range of approaches, strategies and interventions to ensure that all children can access the appropriate curriculum.
- You will work with the team to find solutions to challenges and to ensure that our children thrive in our setting.
- You will support senior staff with planning and implementing as exciting child-led curriculum and learning experiences both inside and outside.
- Be reflective in your practice and that of the setting to create the best outcomes for each and every child.
- Develop your own expertise and experience working with children. Expand your knowledge and skills with ongoing training opportunities.
What you will need
- A passion for early years, love and enjoy working with this age group of children.(2 – 4 years)
- Minimum entry requirement of NVQ3 or equivalent. Maths & English GCSE or equivalent grade C/4 or above
- To be prepared to acquire and maintain a first aid certificate
- To be motivated, playful, able to use your own initiative to engage and inspire children
- Good communication skills, an open mind and an ability to work effectively within a team
- Be adaptable, forward thinking, showing willingness to actively participate in providing a continuous provision
- An active interest in professional development and developing knowledge of how our children learn.
